LOCAC Committees serve to advise the general council. The general council then meets with the public to address issues and decide on recommendations to San Luis Obispo County. **LOCAC is an advisory body only.**

Land Use:
The Land Use Committee is the voice for land use issues affecting Los Osos. Land use includes developments, outdoor recreation, open space, zoning and more. We review and make recommendations regarding all minor use permit applications. We seek input from the public regarding our community’s land use priorities and goals. We research and advise regarding major ordinance and policy changes.

Transportation
Active Transportation Committee was formed at the November 2021 LOCAC meeting. Deborah Howe is heading it with help from members of the public. Active transportation is using any self-propelled human powered mode of transportation. The purpose of this committee is to discuss issues for active transportation, to identify projects, and to get feedback for priorities, safety and funding options. This committee is now joined with the Traffic & Circulation Committee, which no longer exists independently.

Trees + Landscaping
The purpose of the Trees and Landscape Committee is to assist in the greening and beauty of Los Osos in order to achieve healthy, appropriate trees and landscaping throughout the community.
